German eFuel One

Planned Methanol-to-Gasoline plant in Germany
‍
‍
The German eFuel One project is planning a large-scale industrial eGasoline plant in Steyerberg. According to the current project status, commissioning is scheduled for 2029. The goal is to build industrial production capacities for synthetic fuels and to practically test the corresponding value chain and marketing structures.

The eFUEL GROUP is a shareholder and strategic partner of German eFuel One. Its involvement includes the industrial scaling of production and the development of sales opportunities for synthetic fuels.

Focus: Production and market launch of synthetic fuels.

CAPHENIA

“Germany I” Pilot Plant
‍
‍
CAPHENIA’s Power-and-Biogas-to-Liquid pilot plant at the Industriepark Frankfurt-Höchst is used to develop and test processes for producing synthetic fuels for the aviation sector. CAPHENIA combines electricity from renewable energy sources, methane, and CO₂ in a multi-stage chemical process to produce synthesis gas. This serves as the basis for further processing into synthetic fuels.

The eFUEL GROUP supports CAPHENIA as a strategic investor in market positioning, structuring, and application integration.

Focus: Carbon utilization and fuel technologies

DACMA

Scalable DAC solutions
‍
DACMA develops and supplies high-quality, scalable Direct Air Capture (DAC) systems that are particularly well-suited for extreme climate conditions. The CO₂ extracted from ambient air using this technology is used as a raw material, enabling two paths of utilization: First, the captured CO₂ can be reused as a resource for various industrial applications through Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU). Second, Direct Air Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage (DACCS) encompasses processes for the permanent storage of CO₂ in designated geological formations.

DACMA Competence Center
‍
The DACMA Competence Center at the Port of Hamburg is the research and development hub of DACMA GmbH and is scheduled to open in October 2026. It will be used for the development, construction, and testing of modular DAC systems.

DACMA expands the eFUEL GROUP portfolio with expertise in the fields of Direct Air Capture, materials, and process engineering for eFuel applications.

Focus: Materials and processes for synthetic fuel systems.

TRIPLE PLAY

Triple security for renewable fuels

‍
With Triple Play, the eFUEL GROUP, in collaboration with BOSCH and GMA, is developing a concept for the labeling and traceability of synthetic fuels. The innovative "Triple Security Pack" combines physical labeling, chemical verification, and digital documentation along the supply chain. Linking these elements enables the reliable identification of fuels and their associated origin and product information.

The three pillars of Triple Play:

  • Visible color marking (blue dye)
  • Chemical Marker (Fuel Marker)
  • Digital Fuel Twin
